Common questions
The honest answers.
A starting point. If your question isn't here, the fastest answer is usually a fifteen-minute call. Schedule that here or email us at hello@anomalytherapy.com.
How do I get started?
The best first step is requesting a complimentary 15-minute consult call through our client portal. You'll be matched with a clinician based on availability and fit. We'll talk through what's bringing you in and whether we're the right team for the work.
Do you accept insurance?
Anomaly is a private-pay practice. We do not file insurance directly, but we provide superbills you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. This protects your privacy, gives you full control over your treatment, and removes the limits that managed-care diagnostic billing places on therapy.
What are your fees?
Standard sessions with our licensed clinicians range from $175–$250 depending on the clinician and session type. Our Accessible Care program offers full-length sessions at $85, sliding to $30 based on household income and need. Workplace and consulting engagements are scoped individually.
What is the Accessible Care program?
Our intern-led therapy track, designed to make Anomaly accessible to clients for whom the standard fee is a barrier. Sessions are held in the same office, follow the same model of care, and are supervised by our licensed clinicians. Fees range from $30–$85 based on household income and need. Most clients qualify with a brief intake conversation — no documentation required.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. We see clients both in our Patterson Street office and virtually across Tennessee. You can request either format at intake or shift between them as your life requires.
How often will we meet?
All clients begin weekly and we assess cadence as we go. Couples therapy begins weekly with longer sessions. We'll discuss a rhythm that fits your goals in our first session.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is the foundation of our work, and especially important for our public-facing clients. Limits exist only where required by law (imminent risk of harm, abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult). We will always discuss those limits openly.
How do I know if Anomaly is right for me?
Anomaly was built for high-functioning adults whose lives carry pressure, visibility, complexity, and responsibility — and for the partners they love. If you've found yourself successful but unsupported, regulated on the outside and exhausted underneath, you're likely the right fit. The consult call is the best way to confirm it.
What about workplace wellness or consulting?
We work with companies, founders, and leadership teams on sustainable performance, regulation, communication, and team mental health. Engagements range from one-time workshops to embedded clinician retainers. Get in touch to scope an engagement.
